Police Crackdown on Online Betting Scheme

Berhampur: On Wednesday, Odisha Police announced the dismantling of an online betting operation linked to the Indian Premier League (IPL), resulting in the arrest of five individuals suspected of participation.

The arrests took place at various sites across Berhampur, following actionable intelligence received by the police.

Superintendent of Police Saravana Vivek M confirmed that authorities have instructed the relevant banks to freeze the suspects' accounts.

In addition to cash, law enforcement recovered multiple mobile devices and motorcycles from the arrested individuals.

The investigation is ongoing as police work to uncover additional participants in the betting scheme, the SP noted.
